Here's some silliness for you all.First is a live performance of "Break Away" on The David Frost Show. He intruduces them as "The Unique Beach Boys." The description says it's live vocals over a recorded track. Next, here's a funny homemade video for "California Dreamin'" that made me laugh. Talk about a literal interpretation! LOL! |

An amazing video has turned up on youtube...Brian performing (with full band accompaniment) a 1988 live version of an unreleased song called "I Sleep Alone." He turns in a decent vocal, too. Check it out. |

Wow! Great find! Here's the link for everyone else. The description says Brian actually wrote it for Sarah Brightman. Did she ever record it? My brother is actually a Sarah Brightman fan, but he couldn't find it in his collection. Anyway, here's a video of someone playing "Caroline, No" on his guitar. I thought it was a very pretty version. And finally, here are the 'Boys singing a live version of "Wendy." You can barely hear their instruments except for Denny on the drums. |

No problem. Besdies a few quick shots of Mike crouching on the floor and Carl playing on the side it almost seems like an entirely different band. I'd like to see more from that concert. Where do people find these things?[This message has been edited by enockss (edited 09-26-2006).] |

FYI. Someone named "Smile Holland" has posted 8 rare BB videos including "Somewhere Near Japan", "Forever" and "Almost Summer". He's not sure of the exact concert dates, maybe someone else has additional info. |

This is kind of a throw away, but here is part of VH1's nostalgia show "I Love the 80's 3-D" where they talk about 1988. At the beginning of the clip, they start talking about the movie Cocktail, and that, of course, leads to "Kokomo." They only spend about 30 seconds on it, and they don't make any jokes that a BB fan hasn't already heard (or made), but you might find it entertaining if you've neven seen I Love the 80's.[This message has been edited by Socks (edited 10-04-2006).] |

I haven't seen it on YouTube. It's a season six episode called (I think) "Return of the Karate Kid." Season six will probably be available on DVD next summer. Here's a TV performance of Carl singing "What You Do To Me". And here's a unique (and cheesey) video for "Don't Worry Baby" with some footage of Brian thrown in for good measure. [This message has been edited by Socks (edited 10-05-2006).] |

There's a new Beach Boys-related video on youtube that I'm involved with. If you search for "River Song" you'll see it.Other recent finds are a Beach Boys "live" performance at the Reagan inaugural in '85. Live my ass. |

There was a great video I found yesterday of the "Carl-less" Beach boys on the 20th anniversary American Bandstand special. Ed Carter and Bobby Figuroa were there too. The group did a medley of their hits. But, it was all lip synched. It was also edited horribly. The songs abruptly changed in mid chorus. It was very jarring, and the whole group looked confused. Brian "sang" the 1966 God Only Knows album version, with Carl's voice loud and clear. Dennis looked really "out of it", and didn't even TRY to mime the correct drum parts. It was amusing, but sad at the same time. Unfortunatly, I went on YouTube today, and the video has been removed due to copyright infringment. |

For those of you who are curious about Weird Al Yankovic's recent style tribute/parody of Brain Wilson, here's the video for "Pancreas" from Straight Outta Lynwood. It should be noted that Weird Al hired someone else to make this video. Also, I still don't understand why he's singing about his pancreas. And SMiLEHolland has posted a brief interview with Glenn Campbell from the early 80's in which he mentions his work with The Beach Boys. Oh, and speaking of parodies, here's the opening credits to the movie Top Secret!, featuring a Beach Boys parody called "Skeet Surfin'" actually performed by Val Kilmer. Wow, SMiLEHolland comes thru again. Here's the video for "Rock and Roll To the Rescue". Here's a clip from The Late Show with David Letterman from 1995 of Brian performing "Do It Again" in promotion of the I Just Wasn't Made For These Times album. And finally, another Late Show clip, this time from 1996. Promoting Stars and Stripes, James House performs "Little Deuce Coupe" with Brian, Carl, Mike, Al, Bruce and Matt (Jardine). It's really interesting to see such a late period Brian singing with the rest of the group... has it been 10 years already? At the end of the clip, Dave mentions that the Museum of Radio and Television sent someone over to collect a tape of the show to add to their hall of fame. It's truely a cool sight to see. |

Three Cheres for Smile Holland !! Unfortunatally, the "R & R to the Rescue" video is like a lot of the later BB vids, a big mess with bikinis, surfers and the Boys sprinkled in. The Letterman tape was great to see all of the (then) surviving memebers together. |

Here's a couple from the user called "thebeachboys".First we have a short clip of Carl talking about his first solo album followed be a short performance of "Hold Me". Then there's another live performance of "Do It Again" that's supposed to be one of the last times Brian appeared with The Beach Boys. |

A three part video on you tube, which seems to be taken from a one-camera shoot that was then broadcast to Dutch TV of a show in The Hague, has been uploaded. What's interesting about it is the cameraman is by Brian. There's a lot of shots of Brian and his piano is the loudest thing in the mix! I'm wondering if he's not pulling sound off Brian's monitor. |

Yes, I read yesterday that since Google bought You Tube many corporations are making them take off copyrighted material. All "Comedy Central" clips (Jon Stewart, South Park) were ordered off, as were others. Perhaps some Capitol Records big wigs got a hold of our poor Smile Holland. |

enockss, maybe you found this already, but SmilingDutchman posted the BB clips from Home Improvement. It's missing the first minute or so, and the video quality isn't great, but there it is. I think the syndicated version may even be missing a few more seconds of footage, but I'm not really sure. We'll know when the 6th season DVD comes out next summer. |
