NOTE:  The Beach Boys didn't spring out of the ether - they were influenced by the artists and sounds who came before them, and in turn influenced many, MANY artists after them.  In this section I look at their musical predecessors, from The Four Freshman and Phil Spector, to their contemporaries who mercilessly aped their sound, to the generations of artists who fell in love with The Beach Boys music, and to one degree or another have hung their own musical hats on the Beach Boys sound.  I've also included some "spiritual" brothers to the Beach Boys, who's music may not be directly attributable to them, but for one reason or another, are akin to them, and I wanted to give a shout out to.
